Baby on Board

James and I have been holding in this good news for what seems like eternity, and we’re so happy to finally let the cat out of the bag: WE’RE HAVING A BABY! I don’t even know where to begin!  My family and close friends have known for some time now, and even though some of you didn’t say anything at first I knew you knew.  It’s pretty hard to hide mood swings, nausea, exhaustion, and feeling as big as a house for a long period of time. I even went on my family vacation and had to watch everyone drink from 10 AM to the time I went to bed around 8 PM [when is this burst of energy supposed to take place?]. It was not very long into that vacation when people started asking questions.

We’ve wanted this for a long time, and I can’t wait to share the journey with my friends and family, and document it all here. First, let me just say that if you want to give you teenage daughters birth control…actually really any woman…have them follow a woman around going through her first 12 weeks of pregnancy. I made James go to Target and go in to buy me a few frozen pizzas while he left his car on so I could sit in the passengers seat, door open, gaging in the parking lot. One time, he came home to be sobbing on the couch because I was so hungry but I couldn’t bare to eat anything knowing I would feel ill afterwards.  Pregnancy is no joke kids – the weird dreams, you don’t poop, you’re starving, but don’t try and eat because you’ll just puke. You also may cry because your husband hung wall art in your living room that says “Hello, beautiful”, and then yell at him and tell him not to look at you because you have no idea why you’re reacting this way.  James is really my hero for doing everything I’ve asked to try and make these last few months easier. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without him.
